Via Fillungo crossing the town from north to south congregates high-end and mid-range shops devoted to Italian labels among which are Missoni, Armani and Max Mara.
There are also accessory, leather goods shops, restaurants and fine buildings. Whatever you are looking will for certain be found here. Shops, like the rest in Italy, share similar opening times as they close for lunch for some hours in the nap and open again in the late afternoon. From mid September to mid June the opening hours are 9am-1pm; 3.30-7.30pm and from mid-June to mid September 8.30am - 12.30pm; 4-8pm. On Monday mornings they are closed but food shops which close on Wednesdays.
The specialities of Lucca are its castagnaccio, a typical Lucchese and Tuscan cake, buccellato, sweet-bread shapes like a little baguette or a bun, and their delicious olive oil in its many varieties simple or flavoured with herbs or condiments such as basil, oregano, pepper or others.
