Di Simo (Via Fillungo 58; tel. 0583496234; average price for a meal €28) Ancient formal café and restaurant where Puccini used to go (a different name then).

Locanda Buatino (Via BorgoGgiannotti 508; tel 0583 343207; www.leosteriedilucca.com; closed Sun). Considered the oldest trattoria in town. Located a stone’s throw from the Renaissance walls. Menus vary daily. Jazz performances are put on on Mondays from October to May.
